Third Village, Darlinghurst
I seriously can’t remember what was here previously. This cute little cafe is a wonderful addition to the many eateries on Stanley Street, Surry Hills. Dark polished floorboards, high ceilings, exposed brick on one side and a full wall painting of Oxford Street / Darlinghurst Road on the other side. There are a few communal tables, and smaller tables for 2 or 4 people. It’s a small cafe, quite cozy and I love the natural light streaming through the window.

Third Village offers a range of healthy meals, open from breakfast to late afternoon. The coffee here is fantastic, strong and aromatic! Love coffee art.

B and I were here for lunch, she was craving for her usual muesli and although they do not serve breakfast all day, they were willing to give her her granola with fresh fruits and yogurt. Crunchy granola, large cut pieces of fresh fruits topped with yogurt and berry compote – YUM!
I wanted something more substantial, so opted for the roast pork sandwich with tomato chutney, rocket and cucumber and aioli ($8.95) – it had me at roast pork and aioli. It was a rather generous serving, tender pulled pork ‘sandwiched’ between rocket, fresh tomato and topped with both chutney and aioli. It was fantastic and exactly what I needed. I probably should have had the bread toasted, however, they had the Sonoma bread delivered that morning so it was still relatively fresh.

Third Village has a wide selection of fresh squeezed juices and fruit smoothies. Different types of teas, and hot chocolate. They also serve gourmet pies, quiches which are all served with a mixed leaf salad. A small range of sweets for that afternoon sweet craving, muffins, tarts, cookies and brownies.
Service friendly and welcoming, its definitely a cute little spot. The breakfast menu looks fantastic – french toast with poached pear, fresh peaches, vanilla ricotta with lashings of maple syrup has my name of it! So does the scrambled eggs on toasted Sonoma bread with chorizo, lentils and roast pepper. Definitely coming back on the weekend for a fix.
