Lunch with the girls @ MoS Cafe, Sydney

I was glad to have been able to spend my last lunch in Sydney with two of my dearest friends (met them through work but they are more than just ‘colleagues’). They both had babies after I left Sydney for Hong Kong and never got a chance to meet either of them! So thought I would organize lunch and meet and greet their cute babies and believe me – they are both indeed CUTE!!!! M is unbelievably gorgeous, and A is just adorable! I admit, yes I did get a little clucky but how can you not? But I also have to admit – I was glad to give them back to their respective mothers! Lol (sorry J and S!)

MOS Café, short for Museum of Sydney Café, great for business and casual breakfast and lunches. I have never tried their dinner but I am sure it would be just as good. My boss took me here on my first day and I have been here many times with friends for breakfast and lunch. Their menu is simple ranging from salads, pasta, fish and meat. They also have a great selection of wine and desserts.

I ordered the salt and pepper squid with homemade aioli. I am a sucker for ‘aioli’ – wherever I see that on the menu I am totally and utterly sold! I was given a generous serving of salt and pepper squid. It was light and not too oily and the rocket leaves was a great compliment. The aioli was unbelievably creamy and like i said earlier, it had me at ‘aioli’.

J had the farfalle with goats cheese, spinach and marjoram. Bow tie pasta with goats cheese, spinach and marjoram – this was delicious – it was light but yet creamy.

S ordered the linguine with pan-fried prawns, chilli and parsley. I was originally going to order this. I didn’t try this but S said that it was absolutely delicious. Will definitely have to give it ago next time.

We all wanted desserts, unfortunately the only thing they had left was tiramisu, cheese platter and sorbet. We wanted to try the crème brule, alas they ran out. So we got two servings of the tiramisu. The tiramisu was a little different to normal – it didn’t have the sponge fingers. The tiramisu was more like a mouse – chocolate and white mouse mixed together with strawberries and walnuts. It was deliciously sweet but not sickly. It was different but delicious at the same time.

A great lunch with the girls, catching up on the last 4 months, both absolutely happy with motherhood!! They both don’t look as though they have given birth either! I on the other hand, after a week of eating feel like a beach whale!
