Low 302, Darlinghurst

I can’t believe it has taken me this long to visit Low 302. Located on the busy street of Crown Street, Low 302 serves Modern Australian / Spanish, Tapas food. You can’t miss it, open glass window, the menu is displayed in a glass-fronted suitcase. Inside, dark red velvet curtains with armchairs and couches. Long wooden tables, mostly high and ‘The Mother’ and I found the tallest table I have ever seen in the corner.

Vast range of cocktails and wine – I can’t believe I am doing dry July and have ‘stuck’ to it and didn’t order a thing! The cocktails all sounded wonderful, and definitely a must try for my next visit!

We started with the blue eye ‘tiradito’ ($13) – fish sashimi with dried chili tapioca and coriander pesto. Deliciously tasty! The blue eye sashimi was incredibly fresh, and I love the nice spicy kick from the dried chili tapioca. The coriander pesto a wonderful complement. We both demolished this! It was SOOOO good!

I love chicken wings, so couldn’t go past the twice cooked lemon chicken wings tempura ($15) with chipotle mayonnaise. The batter was thin, crispy with a hint of spice and absolutely frigging addictive! The chipotle mayonnaise a wonderful complement. I have to say, it IS one of the tastiest, crunchiest chicken wings thus far!

The deboned short rib pave ($18) with chili cocoa sauce, eschalots and pickle was not what I expected. Slab of beef.

It wasn’t as tender as I had hoped. It was nice but thought it was a little dry and needed more sauce.

‘The Mother’ couldn’t go past the special, which was pan-fried cod with carrots, mushrooms and potatoes. The fish cooked to perfection, crispy skin and tender fish. The carrots, shiitake mushrooms and potatoes a wonderful complement.

I love the rustic slick interior, the soft lounges and low lights. Will definitely be back with friends, have a few drinks and eat their delicious tapas food. The cost of tapas range from $7 – $22 and there are daily specials on offer.

Music is played each evening, usually Blues, Soul, Rock’n’Roll and Jazz. Definitely worth a visit if you haven’t been. Wishing you all a fantastic weekend full of wonderful food!

This place sounds promising! Basing from the pictures you have here, it looks like they serve the best food in town! The music is kind of not my thing but it surely builds some ambiance there, right?

I’ll definitely recommend this place! Thanks for posting šŸ™‚
