Miami and Cafe Prima Pasta, Miami, Florida

I have never been to Miami before, so wasn’t sure what to expect! Unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to roam around Miami either, was here for a work offsite and spent most of the time on Miami Beach!

Not complaining, as we had a great time, team bonding session which includes getting into teams and Beach Olympics! Obviously I wasn’t able to participate much, no strenuous exercise, so I spent most of the time cheering and sitting on the chairs trying to get some sort of tan!

I did have half a day, which I spent with ‘the Mother’. ‘The Mother’ came with me, and he did see more of Miami than I did. We walked on Sunset Beach, apparently you haven’t seen Miami until you have been to Sunset Beach. I can see why, very busy, lots of vibe, and lots of restaurants. I love the beach though, pity I was in no shape to wear a bikini!

We arrived quite late at Miami, our flight was delayed which meant I missed out on having dinner with work colleagues. We checked in, and ‘The Mother’ and I went for dinner by ourselves at Café Prima Pasta. Not sure why we went there, think it was from the lonely planet.

The place was packed when we rocked up at 9pm, we waited for about 5 – 10 minutes for our table before we were seated. The menu had a lot of pasta, it was very Italian and thankfully pasta was what I wanted.

Started with complimentary bread and olive oil.

I am a true sucker for ravioli and saw they had Agnolotti Rosso (USD 16.95) – pasta stuffed with spinach and ricotta in a creamy pink sauce – how can I refuse creamy pink sauce? Ten perfectly round ravioli, each filled with ricotta swimming in creamy pink sauce. The pasta was cooked to perfection and the sauce a wonderful compliment. I really enjoyed this dish and it was exactly what I wanted!

‘The Mother’ had the Spaghetti Gamberi (USD 18.95), whole-wheat pasta with shrimp in a fresh pomodoro sauce. I am not sure why he picked wheat pasta, I didn’t particularly liked the pasta but the pomodoro sauce was lovely and definitely tasty. Obviously he was hungry, and couldn’t wait for me to take pics!

Unfortunately, I was too full and exhausted for dessert, but we did get complimentary chocolate. I can’t for the life of me remember what kind they were, think they were just dark chocolate.

Service was friendly and warm. Great Italian food at reasonable prices, we definitely enjoyed our meal.

After the cold in NYC, I for one was definitely looking forward to some warm weather!
