Buffet at Kitchen, W Hotel, Hong Kong
As I am on the hunt for the best breakfast in Hong Kong, there will be a lot of posts about breakfast places. Not only that, with Dragon it has been difficult going out for dinner. For one, after work, the only thing I want to do is see my little munchkin and second of all, it has been hard going out with her at night, as she doesn’t sleep well outside and her sleep becomes interrupted making her extremely grumpy.
I was catching with two of my dearest friends, N and Z – they moved to Hong Kong almost 2 years ago when I was leaving to go back to Sydney. I am glad that they are still around which means that we get to hang a lot more. Z suggested we go to the W hotel, where we haven’t been and had ‘good’ breakfast. W hotel offers buffet breakfast and it was indeed a good ‘spread’.
Lots of different varieties, ranging from fruits, breads, yogurts to hot breakfast including eggs, bacon, rice, porridge and many more.
Plate no 1: baked beans, chicken sausages, bacon – I can never say no to bacon, mushrooms, and eggs benedict. A pretty good selection I thought and everything was hot and delicious.
Plate no 2: I was getting full by this stage – yes, quite pathetic really, I really don’t get my money’s worth when it comes to buffet! Fruits were next – they had rambutan and OH MY! Haven’t had those in years. The fruit salad selection I thought could have been better, but I was pretty happy with my rambutan.
N got some desserts – I couldn’t fit anything else in, some Danish and pastries, which he thought was quite good but filing
The fruits with yogurt I enjoyed, the fruit smoothie weren’t great unfortunately, I think it has been sitting there for a while hence warm and not great.
Overall I thought the W hotel provided a good ‘spread’ for breakfast. From memory it was 360HKD pp. It’s a nice hotel and the food isn’t too bad, so would definitely happy come back.
It was definitely lovely to catch up with two of my dearest friends, and I look forward to seeing you more!
PS: the Abercrombie models that was in Hong Kong actually stayed at the W hotel… we saw a few eye candies 🙂
