Tonkichi Tonkatsu Seafood, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong

I have wanted to try this restaurant for a while now. A couple of friends have said that it is the ‘best’ tonkatsu they have ever had. My cousin from Indonesia was in town and he LOVES Japanese food, especially tonkatsu so I suggested this place. Tonkinchi Tonkatsu can be found in the World Trade Centre on Level 4, it is a rather fancy place, and they serve not only tonkatsu but also seafood!

The menu is vast, however, if you don’t like fried food then this is not the place for you! My dad couldn’t go past the sashimi – fresh deliciously cut sashimi.

Mum wanted to try the pork katsu don, which was served on a bed of rice. The pork katsu as predicted delicious and I loved the egg on the bottom.

I couldn’t go past the pork katsu – golden brown and deep fried, oh my, the pork is very tender and I love the crispy panko surface which was oh so crunchy! It wasn’t greasy at all and the pork meat scrumptiously good!

My cousin also wanted the pork katsu but the lighter and non-fatty version of pork, so opt for the pork lion which he enjoyed tremendously.

The cabbage is a nice side dish, but we are not here for the cabbage are we? I really truly enjoyed my pork katsu here, extremely crunchy and the pork was just moist! Probably my favourite thus far.
