Wah Fung, Central, Hong Kong
This place is my go to Char Siu (Bbq pork) place in Central Hong Kong. I have count the number of times I have been here, usually for takeaway after the gym – yes you must all be thinking that bbq pork is not exactly a post-gym meal! But it’s SOOO GOOD!
I came here with my parents and Dad couldn’t go past the duck noodles with rice noodles. The duck was juicy and meaty. However, I thought the skin was less crispy as it was ‘dunked’ in soup!
Mum ordered the duck noodles also but instead of rice noodles, she had egg noodles which she also loved!
We ordered a plate of char siu – oh my, the char siu glistened and it had the right amount of fat to meat ratio! It was SOOO very good!
I have had the suckling pig here too and it’s also pretty good! The only thing I thought was mediocre was the Hainan chicken which I have definitely have had better elsewhere.
Overall, service was quick and efficient, we were in and out within 30 mins. Food is quite tasty, but I have always ordered the roast meat, so bbq pork, roast chicken, Hainan chicken, and suckling pig. There is always a queue outside so don’t be put off, it does move relatively quickly.
