Voted as Best Cafe by the Sydney Morning Herald Good Cafe Guide 2011. Mecca can be found on the corner of Harris and Ultimo Road. The interior of Mecca is spacious, I love the modern decor, the wooden tables and school chairs, the concrete floors and the floor to ceiling glass windows.
Mecca offers diners both breakfast and lunch (menu is simple but excellent!) and that perfect cup of coffee!
Skim flat white – perfection in a cup! The aroma, the acidity, the flavour – excellent!
For lunch, I ordered the poached chicken salad with radichhio, greens, and roasted walnuts with vinaigrette dressing topped with parmesan cheese.
It was a generous serving! The chicken was tender and succulent, the salad fresh and the honey roasted walnuts – yum! Definitely could use more of the walnuts that’s for sure.
I can see it is voted as the Best Cafe in Sydney, I love the friendly atmosphere, it’s a wonderful place to relax, catch up with friends, or even just ‘hang’ on your own with that perfect cup of coffee! If only this cafe was around when I was at UTS Sydney.
Mecca is also open on 67 King Street and also 1 Alfred Street in Sydney. No doubt I will visit the other two locations also! Mecca also offers coffee cupping sessions which are held every Thursday and Saturday at 11.30am. The sessions are free but coffee lovers must book in advance. (Details can be found on the Mecca Website).
